This is another of my apiaries placed on a neighbor's pasture to take advantage of the plentiful Linden (Basswood) trees that exist there. These colonies are of the package bees I brought home in May and seem to be loving the lush green surroundings as much as I.
Shown in this picture is a frame of brood taken from the Pryor Apiary. You may notice the small white-capped triangle shape of honey in the uper left hand corner, the colorful pollen made into bee bread packed around the outer edge of the tan colored , capped larvae cells. This queen has filled the bottom box with patterns just like the one shown and has even been laying in the new box on top. It truly is a remarkable world within our world, existing in these wooden boxes.
